Asteroids and Budget Clearances

I swear, if we knew that an asteroid was going to hit the Earth on March 31st 2009, everybody would scramble like crazy to get their budgets spent in time and get their projects completed before the Big One hits us. Its been a crazy end of year with people expecting dry times next year (the asteroid) and getting what they can done now (and our blog has suffered in consequence). This is not necessarily a good thing, because KM can’t usually be rushed. So if an asteroid were really going to hit on March 31st next year, what would YOU do with your KM programme?

Well, its just 3 months! I will stop all KM initiatives like Documentation, Monotonous updates etc.

Every CoP meet will be a huge party, all the budget will be spent on KM initiatives that people really enjoy.

I want people to have fun, let them think of KM as the ‘good folks’ who ensured everyone enjoyed their death. KM is about people isnt it? smile

Oddly enough, my first reaction wasn’t too dissimilar to Alakh - I’d want to find a way to thank everyone who’s contributed.

There’s probably a couple of people I’d want to kill with my bear hands as well, but let’s focus on the positives for now…

But the other thing to be done is - find a way of dealing with this f***ing asteroid. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over and there’s presumably a chance we could do something. So let’s work on getting anybody with an idea and an ounce of energy together and hammering out a plan of asteroid diversion. We could get Bruce Willis and his gang of maverick yet brilliant sweaty vest-wearers just like in the movies.
